In the September Canadian Living in theBudgeting for Back to School section the expert told some naive parent that it would be a great idea for their child (who is 17 years old) to have a credit card, and I quote:
“… and have him set up pre-authorized payments that cover the minimum monthly balance.
My wife, myself and some friends went on a vacation to Florida (this was about 17 years ago). My Father In Law had told me about how if you go to a Timeshare Condominium sales pitch, you can get free tickets to some of the sites around Orlando, which sounded good to me (Free is always a good price). We found that at the Motel we were staying there was an entire courtesy desk filled with Timeshares offering this deal, so we signed up for a “sales demonstration”.
o I found a site that was espousing that “… if you have to, you should borrow money when you are young, that way you have longer to pay your debt off…”. Now this site seems to be from the author of a book who thinks this is a valid piece of advice,
Yes, I am in one of those moods today, so for those who are lovers of Top 10 lists (no disrespect to David Letterman), here is another great top 10 list of my own thinking, and please note the number of entries as well.

Now this is not a slight to barbers (even Wealthy Barbers), I like barbers in general (although whoever thought up Justin Bieber’s hair thing should have his license revoked), however, if you are looking for stock picking advice from your Gardener, Barber, or your trash collector, you may be looking in the wrong place. I am skeptical of every stock tip I receive in my life, and you should be as well…..
